Let Me Know What You’re Up To This Week!

Hi Internet People,

I’ve got a pretty fun week planned, but all the fun doesn’t start until later in the week. While I’m super excited, and a little bit nervous about my plans, it’s Monday and that means work week things are happening. I want to know what all of you are up to this week.

I don’t really have a ton of stuff to say today, mostly that I’m still packing and getting ready for things. Be prepared for a video full of excitement and probably yelling later this week. Do you have fun stuff planned for this week? Are you prepping for a big trip too? Let me know! Even if you aren’t doing anything super exciting this week, do you have something fun coming up eventually?

Beyond that I hope you have an okay Monday, because the first day of the work week is always a bit of an adjustment. This week the blog will be a bit sparse, mostly because I’ll be doing a lot of updates over on The Nerdy Girl Express.

Family Time and Chilling Out

Hi Internet People,

My sister just got home for spring break this weekend and we are doing some chilling out. We went out to brunch yesterday, okay sort of breakfast, but my family always eats late on the weekends. We kind of sleep in, I don’t think I’ve ever gone to bed early unless I was sick or genuinely exhausted beyond the ability to function.

Besides going out for food my mom and sister had haircuts scheduled and because our hairdresser is awesome, she was able to squeeze me in. I decided to get my hair cut a lot shorter, not super short, but shorter than recently. I had really short hair for so long that even this haircut seems kind of long to me. I really like how it turned out and I’m pumped to show it off at ClexaCon.

The rest of this weekend is going to be a lot of chilling out and relaxing. We are planning some shopping, which I really need to do in order to get supplies for next week. The only major things beside that I have going on are some video filming and some writing prep. That and working out, but my sister is doing some stuff too so it all works out.

A Brief Witch House Hiatus

Hi Internet People,

I know that I said I would be doing Witch House related creative posts every Friday, but I’ve been a bit distracted by some work things and some life things. We’ve been really busy at work and the uptick in appointments has left me a bit tired at the end of the day. Then I’ve been working out and working on Nerdy Girl Express things so I just haven’t been in the zone to write about the Witch House. On top of that I have something that is going to involve me taking a bit of a break on the blog.

ClexaCon is next week and I will be there! This means that Thursday all the way until the Monday of the next week I will be really busy. I am going to be taking videos, live tweeting, and doing a bunch of other stuff to share my trip over on NGE and with all of that going on I am going to take a bit of a break so that I can focus on that those few days. I should still have a Fangirl Freakouts and a My Kinda Recaps up that week. I have a plan! I’ll post those here like normal, but I won’t be writing up blog posts for Friday, Sunday, or Monday. Depending on if I have time I’ll write one up for Tuesday, but I may need to skip that day too.

I’m sorry if you were expecting a Witch House update, but they will be back after two weeks! I’ll try to write an extra long one with some cool stuff.

My Dog is an Adorable Weirdo

Hi Internet People,

My dog’s name is Bennett and while we’ve have him for like 4 years, I’ve only really been around him in the past two. My family got him from the local Human Society right before I went to grad school, which meant I only saw him when I visited home. After I graduated I wound up moving back home and now I see him every day. Now he doesn’t always hang out with me that much. My dad is his favorite person and he spends as much time as he can with him. This weekend my dad was out of town and I wound up spending a lot more time with Bennett.

First off he’s a pretty active dog and we take him out 3-4 times a day to go on a walk around the neighborhood. My dad is typically his walk buddy, though my brother walks him while the rest of us are at work sometimes. He has afternoon breaks in his class schedule and can normally at least run by the house for a little while. He was out of town too so I wound up walking Bennett as often as I could. Now after his walks Bennett likes to come home and chill with the person who walked him. This has meant that we’ve been spending a lot of time together.

Now here’s the second thing, Bennett is a very weird eater. Typically he eats most of his food, but he’s been taking allergy medicine, which means he gets extra treats. Not too may extra, but he won’t eat the pill unless we put it in bread with peanut butter. While taking his allergy meds his appetite has been a little subdued I guess. Not only is he not eating as much because of the meds, but he also pouts when my dad is gone. He mopes around and just sleeps a lot. I’ve managed to get him to eat, but I literally have to hang out with him in the kitchen while he does. Not totally normal, but it’s cute. He also totally slept an entire night in my room, which he never does.

He’s napped with me down there and when I used to work nights he would hangout during the day with me. On Saturday night he literally curled up with me all night and then the next day he napped on my bed while I was doing some video work. He’s a super cute dog and even though he’s weird I totally love him.

Thinking About Some Recipe Things

Hi Internet People,

When I’m bored and messing around with my phone I have a tendency to check out articles on Buzzfeed. Now I don’t read every article, but I check out the quizzes and I always wind up looking at the recipe posts. I haven’t been baking or cooking much recently and I think I’d really like to. When iZombie was on in previous seasons I would make something weekly and with it having such a big break between seasons I haven’t really been in the groove.

I think I might try doing a weekly recipe and if I do I’m debating if I want to write them up over here or what I want to do. I wish my kitchen was easier to work in because I’d consider doing videos where I make stuff, but my kitchen just isn’t designed well enough for filming. My old kitchen was, I had tons of cabinets and counter top space where I could have set up my camera. If I did do a weekly recipe would people be interested in seeing how they turn out?

I normally try and follow recipes, but I often tweak them or do some extra stuff to them. That’s how a lot of my brain recipes got started. I found a general recipe and then altered it to make it look like a brain. Let me know what you’d think and I might try and make some stuff soon.

A Fun Saturday with the Family

Hi Internet People,

Yesterday I had a really nice day and I thought I’d share what I was up to. I started off my day by walking the dog and then went to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. I’m sure that shocked you a bit, but I needed to retake the temps test and get a new one. Yes, I have taken the test now like 5 times, I just never put in the driving time. It just hasn’t happened, but this year it totally has to. Then after the fastest BMV trip ever I walked the dog again, he needed to go out before my mom and I headed out to visit my sister.

We drove down to where she goes to college and then had a really nice lunch/dinner with her. Then we went to Target and I got a bunch of random stuff, though I did need like three things. The necessary things were a suitcase, a new SD card, and a toothbrush. Then I bought a tiger face mask, Tim Tams, Girl Scout cookie cereal, and a discount box of Valentine’s candy. After that we got Starbucks and chatted for a while. Then I came home, walked the dog a third and final time for the day, and worked out.

It was a really nice day and I enjoyed spending time with most of my family. My dad and brother were off doing some stuff so they couldn’t join us, but next weekend everyone will be around and we’ll probably do something. I hope you have nice Sunday and that your weekend has gone well.
