Fridays Are For Writing, At Least Maybe

Hi Internet People,

I’m so used to Fridays being devoted to Poe Party fanfic now that I’m not sure what to do with myself. I had mentioned in the past doing some other fanfic, I really think a Jessica Jones and Wynonna Earp fic would be fun to write, but I’m not really feeling in the zone to write that one. I really need to rewatch both shows to get super into the feel of the characters. With no fanfic to actively work on I’m just not sure what to write.

I might use Fridays to work on ideas for a webseries I want to eventually create. I’ve mentioned it before in a bit more detail, but I would love to use H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Dreams in the Witch House” as the basis for a series. I really enjoy that story and while part of it hints at some intense visuals, I think it could be worked to literally take place in one room with a super minimal cast. I have written up some additional notes to explain why the main person would be filming videos in the first place and I have thought of ways to minimize characters within the piece. I think it could be done with primarily just one person and then like one or two additional characters at certain points.

I’m thinking that I could do bits and bobs of writing over here to see what people think and get a bit of input along the way. Also making Friday writing day would literally force me to work on the piece weekly, which I think I need. Whenever I make a schedule for YouTube or blog posts I feel like I hold myself more accountable because I feel like I have to have those things available for people who check out my posts and videos. Now you all might not really care if I post things on certain days, but it at least helps me work if I think you do. Let’s see how writing Fridays go, let me know what you think of the idea in the comments or on Twitter!

Happy 2016!

Hi Internet People,

It’s the start of a brand new year and I’m still in shock that 2015 is over. It feels like the previous year flew by, but it’s time to look forward and figure out what I want to do. Well okay sort of. I’m not making all my life decisions today, but I am going to be thinking about things I want to do this year.

First I need to think of new ideas for YouTube videos and stuff to write articles about here and for The Nerdy Girl Express. I still want to keep doing some casual cosplays, but I think I’m going to do fewer unboxings. What do you guys want to see me do? I know I ask that a lot, but I really do appreciate any input you all have. For articles I’m thinking of doing newbie recaps of tv shows. There are so many things I want to watch that are on Netflix that doing articles about them would give me good initiative to get watching.

Second and kind of a big reveal, I really need to get my license this year. I didn’t get it taken away or anything, I’ve just never had one. I always had a way to get wherever I needed, either through family members or by walking. This year I am going to get my license and get a car so that I can do more traveling and have more experiences. I love road trips and this year I want to take one of my own so I have to get my license.

Third thing on my list is to try new foods. I know that sounds kind of lame, though admittedly some people might think this whole list is lame, but I really want to try to cook and eat different foods. I want to see if I can cook some things that I’ve never made before that aren’t just desserts. I’m not talking Hannibal level fancy, but I’d like to prepare an entire meal with at least some ingredients I’ve never used before, except people, I won’t include people promise.

So really this year I want to try new things and take more risks than I have in previous years. Do you have goals for this year? If you do I’d love to hear them. You can comment below or share them with me on Twitter, @kleffnotes. If you want to catch up on my videos you can always find them on my YouTube channel. You can also find tons of cool stuff over on The Nerdy Girl Express.

Talk to ya tomorrow,

Katherine
