Make My Sunday, Watch My Videos

Hi Internet People,

It’s Sunday, a day for relaxing and chilling out. Well, I’m working from 10:45-5 today, after working 5:30-12:15 am last night, so I’m going to be sleepy and probably a little sassy at work. I thought since many of you will be able to relax today that I would remind you that I have some fun videos you can check out over on my kleffnotes YouTube channel.

I have a bunch of different videos. I do unboxings, I recap web series, I chat about nerdy things in my weekly Fangirl Freakouts videos, and I do an MTV Scream focused video called Autopsy of a Scream. Please make my day and check out some of my videos, I love making them and I always hope that people enjoy watching them.

Bed Con 2016!

Hi Internet People,

So if you haven’t already noticed I am not at San Diego Comic Con. I almost tried to sneak in with my friend to see the Orphan Black panel, but we decided against it, mostly because I start a new job very soon and couldn’t just leave my current job to go to San Diego. We are going to try to go together next year, hopefully, maybe. My friend has gone at least years in a row and plans to go next year so we are going to try our best to go together.

I am trying to keep the SDCC spirit alive, even though I’m in a little town in the Midwest. I work this entire weekend, but I am checking social media as much as I can to see at least some of what’s going on. I’m also dvring the Syfy live events, yes I know they’re live, but I haven’t been able to watch them at 8 pm. I will watch them though! I also made a trip to my local comic book store. I picked up some fun single comics that I wanted to check out and the third volume of Sex Criminals. I also went on Hot Topic super late last night and ordered the Liv Moore SDCC Exclusive Funko Pop, plus a Holtzmann Pop.

I spent a hunk of last night in my room being as comic book nerdy as possible. I put on the fifth season of The Guild, they go to Megagame-o-ramacon, and wrote up three articles about Alterna Comics news that are exclusively tied to SDCC. I would love to go to SDCC so hopefully next year I can share fun and exciting news with you from there instead of from my much less cool bedroom, though I am surrounded by some very nerdy things in here.

Fangirl Freakouts: Soliloquies of Santiago

Hi Internet People,

Yesterday I live tweeted the web series Soliloquies of Santiago by R.J. Lackie, who is part of All For One and Inhuman Condition, and I wanted to share the awesomeness of this series in my latest Fangirl Freakouts.

Helsinki, Clone Club, Freaking Helsinki!

Hi Internet People,

I’ve talked about Orphan Black on here before and I need to talk about the comic books right now. In season four we officially met Veera, who had been introduced in the first run of Orphan Black comics. Outside of the show Veera’s character was given a detailed backstory in the second run of comics titled Helsinki. I had tried to get my hands on this second set of comics, but my local store didn’t carry them and I decided I would wait it out until the graphic novel was published.

The wait felt like forever, but yesterday it showed up at my door and I immediately read it cover to cover. It’s so good you guys! I loved the other comics, I even have a framed one in my room, but this story line introduced so many clones and showed us not only Veera’s past, but some of Katja’s. We also learned how the whole Rachel/Ferdinand relationship got started. If you haven’t read the comics and are a fan of Orphan Black you need to find them right now and do it. They are just so amazing and they reveal so much about the characters that you haven’t seen in the shows. Besides the stories the art is gorgeous.

I now want to go back and rewatch all of Orphan Black, I mean I want to do that pretty much all the time, but the urge right now is so strong. I especially want to rewatch season four to find the connections to the comics that I missed the first time. Now if only I were going to San Diego Comic Con, I could find all my sestras and brother-sestras and bond over all of this amazingness.

Lots of Typing Last Night

Hi Internet People,

I had a very busy Sunday night, but not because of work. I had the joy of having Sunday off and I don’t have to work today either, so I spent a huge hunk of my evening working on articles for The Nerdy Girl Express. With the freedom to do whatever I wanted yesterday I slept in, spent some time with my sister, and then napped. Yes, I napped even though I slept in because I had the freedom to be a schlub. I’ve also watched a lot of Cutthroat Kitchen. I used to watch Food Network a lot, but haven’t been recently and it’s been nice to watch cooking shows again.

Recently I’ve been working or out of town on Sundays so I have been pulling some very late nights in order to just get one article up by Monday, recently I’ve been posting Preacher recaps. With no work two days in a row I decided to focus on catching up on articles I haven’t been able to get done. I recently became an Alterna Comics reviewer and I had four comics that I hadn’t had time to read and write about yet. With Cutthroat Kitchen on in the background I got to work and got all four articles done.

They won’t go up until Tuesday, but I feel so accomplished finally getting caught up and having so many articles ready to go for posting. This also means that I’ll have some extra time to spend catching up on my massive reading pile and watch some shows in my Netflix queue and on my dvr. I also got a live tweet set up for this week. Wednesday at 1 pm I’ll be watching Soliloquies of Santiago with my web series live tweet buddy if you want to join us. I’ll be saying something on Twitter too in case you forget. I’m going to enjoy my day off and definitely find some fun stuff to do. I have some minor plans already.
