Hi Internet People,
I mentioned in my video about The Series of Unfortunate Events Netflix series that I had started rereading the books. when I filmed it I had just made it to The Wide Window, book three, but as of today I am on The Ersatz Elevator, book six. This is actually the first time I have ever gone back and reread the series and I am so glad that I did.
I honestly had forgotten some pretty important details from the books. I remembered the first three pretty well, which means that I might have reread them when the movie came out way back in 2004. I don’t remember if I did, but since that movie only used those three movies as source material I really might have reread them to see how different the movie was from those books.
Rereading this series has been a pleasure because it really is almost like reading something brand new. I remember little bits and pieces, but I haven’t remembered full plots so far. It’s also been nice to have something quick to read at night when I want to unwind. The books are pretty short and the writing style makes them really easy to breeze through. When I first read the series the penultimate and final book came out so much later than the rest of the series that while I read them I know I missed out on some of the fine details and earlier references. I’m really excited to finish the series, but I really am having fun being able to enjoy them again with new eyes.
Also bonus fun casting news! While I’m writing this I found out that Netflix has cast a Violet and a Klaus. The actor playing Klaus is new to acting so I think this is his first big role. Violet is going to be played by Malina Weissman, who currently plays the young Supergirl in flashback sequences.
Yesterday I filmed a quick casual cosplay video and I’m still running my Funko contest over on YouTube and Twitter, @kleffnotes. You can find out all the details by going to my YouTube channel. I’m filming a fun video today and that will go up some time on Thursday. I’ve also got some fun articles over on The Nerdy Girl Express.
Talk to ya tomorrow,
Katherine
